Koziol

In 1927 Bernhard Koziol opened an ivory workshop in Michelstadt. The trade was registered on 27 November 1927. In 1930 a barn was converted into a workshop in which several employees carved ivory jewellery. In 1935 a manually operated plastic injection moulding machine was purchased. In 1940 the 150 employees moved into new factory buildings in Michelstadt. After the end of the Second World War, the production of plastic articles was expanded. From 1950 the dream balls were manufactured. In 1970 a factory complex was built in Erbach. In 1980 the two sons of the company founder, Bernhard Koziol junior, who died in 1998, and Stephan Koziol, took over the management. Since the 1990s, Koziol has mainly been producing household goods and gift articles.

At the end of October 2009, the previous "outlet shop" moved from the old factory building to a new building at the current production site. At the same time, a museum was opened documenting the company's history.
