A Tech Affair episode 242: Professional camera for dummies, James Bond on Amazon and "Aloft"
Amazon takes over the James Bond franchise - will it soon be called Jeff Bond? In addition, Sigma shows a completely new camera concept and we talk about the British who want your iCloud data. In the Big Screen we talk about Apple's new film "The Gorge" and in the games corner the co-op title "Aloft" is the topic.
Amazon takes over the complete rights to James Bond. While Barbara Broccoli wants to turn her attention to new projects, the Amazon CEO immediately launches a poll on "X" to find out who should become the new Bond. Will that work out so well? The camera manufacturer Sigma is developing a full-frame camera called "Sigma BF". The operation is simple, but it takes professional pictures. The catch: the price.
The British are secretly expressing a desire to be able to view all of the world's iCloud backups. They have instructed Apple to do this for them. Apple rejects this, but deactivates the encryption function for British iCloud backups.
The big screen is about "The Gorge". Levi Kane, a former US Marine, is assigned to guard a tower on the western side of a deep gorge alone for a year. Agent Agnes Drasa takes over on the eastern side. Although they are not allowed to have any contact with each other, they do just that.
The games corner is also about cooperation. This in the game "Aloft". It is a co-op survival game set in a world of floating islands. Alone or with friends, you have to repair the broken ecosystem.

I've been tinkering with digital networks ever since I found out how to activate both telephone channels on the ISDN card for greater bandwidth. As for the analogue variety, I've been doing that since I learned to talk. Though Winterthur is my adoptive home city, my heart still bleeds red and blue.
