Galaxy AI: Samsung brings the new AI functions to more devices
So far, Galaxy AI is only available on the Galaxy S24. This will change soon. Samsung is equipping other smartphones and tablets with the AI functions.
From the end of March, Galaxy AI will be available on more devices. From then Samsung plans to make One UI 6.1, the latest version of its user interface, available for six more smartphones and three tablets
The top devices of 2023 will receive Galaxy AI
A total of 100 million people with Galaxy devices will be able to enjoy Galaxy AI this year. Samsung's top models from 2023 have enough computing power for the AI functions. The following devices will receive the AI update:
- Galaxy S23
- Galaxy S23 Plus
- Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Galaxy Tab S9
- Galaxy Tab S9 Plus
- Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
Samsung does, however, say that some of the AI functions of the S24 series may not be available on all of the devices mentioned. Specifically, the manufacturer only mentions "Instant Slo-Mo". The generation of time-lapse recordings is not available on the Galaxy S23 FE.
Samsung's Galaxy AI includes functions from various areas. Among other things, the AI helps with translations in the interpreter app or even with phone calls. When taking photos, you can remove reflections or move or delete lenses in the subject. In chats, you can get text suggestions in different tones. The AI summarises websites or other texts for you. Google's Cirle-to-Search function is also part of the scope of One UI 6.1. The convenient image search is loosely connected to the Galaxy AI and is not exclusively reserved for Samsung. Google, for example, already uses it on its latest Pixel smartphones.
