Lego announces new set for Star Wars Day: TIE Interceptor
Lego is reissuing a starfighter for Star Wars Fan Day: The Tie Interceptor is the 39th set in the Star Wars collector's series.
Just in time for the annual Star Wars Fan Day on 4 May, Lego is launching a new set: the TIE interceptor: TIE stands for Twin Ion Engine fighter and refers to a series of fictional starfighters from the Star Wars universe.
The set consists of 1931 pieces and is recommended for ages 18 and up. It will have the number 75382. Lego quotes the price at 229.99 euros or 239 francs.
Make new from old
If you're thinking that the TIE interceptor has been around before - that's right! Lego first released the spaceship in 2000 as part of the Ultimate Collection series. The new fighter is now the 39th set in the UCS Star Wars series.
"Now it's back in a completely new and even more authentic design," says on the website of the Danish toy giant. Striking details include the wings, the Cockpit, the laser cannons and the rear engine. According to Lego, this model is based on an interceptor that was first seen in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi".

The starfighter also includes a stand with information plaque, a brick to mark the 25th anniversary of Lego Star Wars, a mini TIE pilot and a mouse droid. According to Lego, the pilot will have a specially decorated arm.
Assembled, the set measures 32 x 40 x 33 centimetres (height x width x depth).
I can't tell you at the moment whether you can also buy the set from Galaxus. But I'll let you know if we get it into the shop. Lego Insider customers will be able to buy the set on the manufacturer's website from 1 May.
If you can't wait - we already have a number of Star Wars sets in our range:
