Microsoft tests advertising in the Windows 11 start menu
What is already bad for Windows 10 could soon be coming to Windows 11: more adverts. Specifically, Microsoft is currently testing app recommendations in the Start menu.
If you want to disable advertising, you can do so in the current test under Settings > Personalisation > Start. According to Microsoft, the recommendations should help you discover great apps from the store. Whether and when this "feature" will actually make its way into the official Windows version is unclear. After all, the beta testers are likely to have their say with their hopefully negative feedback.
