Moon Knight: New featurette and first picture of Mr. Knight!

For some fans, it can't go fast enough until the MCU series about the relatively unknown, but all the more exciting character "Moon Knight" starts on March 30. Marvel Studios has released a featurette with new information.

Right at the beginning, you can see how the mercenary with dissociative identity disorder Marc Spector - or Steven Grant, depending -, transforms into the title character Moon Knight. As Moon Knight, he is in the service of the moon god Khonshu and becomes the guardian, guide, defender and observer of the nightwalkers - if he isn't imagining it all. Even the comics have not yet given a definitive answer. That's exactly what makes the character so appealing.

"The series takes the issue around mental health very seriously," promises actor Oscar Isaac. In fact, dealing with it appropriately and respectfully is said to have been one of the creative team's most important tasks.

It's too early to tell how serious the series will actually be. Actress May Calamawy, for example, speaks of a mixture of "Fight Club" and "Indiana Jones" in terms of tone - whatever that means. In another interview with USA Today, actor Ethan Hawke talked about Arthur Harrow, his character: "For me it was like playing Jimmy Swaggart, Leo Tolstoy, Fidel Castro, the Dalai Lama and Josef Mengele all at the same time. That was the fun of it."

New images show another fan favorite

As if that wasn't enough to fuel anticipation, Marvel Studios has released three more images of Oscar Isaac. He can be seen there as Steven Grant, Moon Knight and... Mr. Knight!

Created by writer Warren Ellis in the 2011 comic Secret Avengers, Vol. 1, Issue 19, Mr. Knight became much more famous in the Moon Knight comics from 2014 and 2015 - also penned by Warren Ellis.

That the character is making it into the series is exciting news for fans. After all, he's considered a secret favorite. Where Moon Knight is the brutal, vengeful vigilante who prefers to simply beat criminals to a pulp, Mr. Knight is much more subtle, consulting with police about crime scenes, talking to people who need protection - and then beating up the criminals à la John Wick.

"Moon Knight" launches March 30 on Disney+ and will include six episodes. Showrunner is Jeremy Slater. It will be directed by Mohamed Diab as well as the duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
