My Digitec summer hit 2024 thanks to the Suno AI programme

AI tools are also available for creating your own songs. I tried out the revised version of Suno and wrote the Digitec summer hit for you.

Suno has had a programme for a while now that you can use to create your own song. The developers have now improved the tool - of course I have to try it out. Suno only needs a few creative inputs for your own song creation:

  • For the lyrics: rough song description, your lyrics or you choose instrumental as a variant
  • For the melody: musical style in the form of a description or you choose the option of an arbitrary style
  • Song title

Suno then spits out two different results. This takes about a minute. The two resulting songs last up to two minutes. You even get a matching album cover. There is a link for sharing or you can download your song as an audio or video file.

Here you can find my Digitec hit as an 80s pop song.

You can find the lyrics here again to sing along to or fix them:

Digitec

We live from the community
And so from RPG
with geeks and nerds
we want to talk
‘bout the stuff we bought

as editors our job: to play
some new and fancy games
to test a phone
and SSD
and headphones for the tone

Ref.:
digitec is community
digitec is for nerds
digitec is wild and free
as long as you are nice

That doesn't sound bad for the little effort? I can finally use my self-written lyrics from my notes app and set them to music. Then I'll get my guitar out again. Making music myself is much more fun than writing a description of it.

Maybe you've got summer song fever too and have suggestions for verses three and four. Or a completely different idea? Feel free to create your own Digitec song for the Community with Suno. Free access is limited to a few songs per day and you'll need a Discord or Google account to sign up. Otherwise you have free access.

Of course, I created the teaser image with an image AI, Gencraft. It is also intended to represent a possible album cover. I used Photoshop's "Generative Fill" for the format. I find the result generic and a bit confusing. I prefer human creativity. Nevertheless, it's always exciting to see what you can do with it.
