After two disappointing films, a game has got the famous archaeologist back on track. The developers behind Wolfenstein take us back to the year 1937. Nazis are once again looking for a supernatural artefact and Indy has to stop them using his fists, whip and wits. Puzzles are an important part of the game, after all. The lively action adventure featuring snappy lines and cinematic staging completely won me over. Now the fun is arriving to PlayStation as well.

This survival game is inspired by genre classics such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. You play a train conductor who finds himself in a surreal dimension after a panic attack. First off, Towerborne is a live service game, meaning it’s constantly being expanded with new content. This usually rings alarm bells for me. «Forever games» like these often don’t offer the necessary quality to grab me in the long term. However, this new release from the studio behind the fantastic Banner Saga trilogy doesn’t look like your typical uninspired cash grab. It’s a cooperative brawler. You run from left to right with your adventurer troop of up to four people, slaughtering your way through fantasy monsters in chaotic battles. There’s lots of loot, different classes, upgrades and so on.
The game looks great, has a pleasant lightness to it and levels only last between five and 20 minutes. Perfect for short and long gaming sessions with friends.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
