I have to admit that at first glance it would feel strange for me to buy a new CPU for a platform that (almost) no longer offers the possibility of upgrading. It's impressive how AMD keeps improving the Zen architecture. However, in my opinion, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D was just as unnecessary as the Core i9 12900KS. AMD and Intel are engaged in a prestigious duel for the performance crown, which often has little relevance in gaming practice...
The two completely different approaches of AMD and Intel are only partially successful. Intel's Core i9-12900KS is brazenly overpriced compared to the extra performance it offers, a clear candidate for users who only want to buy the top model on principle.
