The Sony SRS-XG300 is a little too big and heavy to take with you everywhere. But with its robust construction, dust and water protection and comfortable carrying handle, it's perfect for trips to the park. The long battery life of up to 25 hours also fits perfectly. At medium volumes, the SRS-XG300 also plays warm and full, although not particularly clear or detailed...

A powerful bass, easily audible details and a balanced, lively sound - that's what the perfect Bluetooth speaker should sound like. However, good sound quality is not everything: Stiftung Warentest expects a test winner speaker to be easy to use, to have a long-lasting battery and to offer practical additional functions.

Due to its mediocre sound and the rather short battery life, the Sony SRSXG300 only achieves a satisfactory grade. It's a shame, because the basic framework is actually right: the Bluetooth box has all the important connections and is easy to operate. On top of that, it offers a waterproof housing and nice extras like a practical carrying handle. But that is not enough.
