Reviews & Ratings
- Fast autofocus with good scene recognition
- Simple operation
- Permanently installed display
- Autofocus slow with 4K video
The price-performance winner, the EOS R100, scores highly in photography with its simple operation, great image quality and fast autofocus with good subject recognition. Canon has cut back on features and the continuous shooting speed. The EOS R100 is not a video specialist. It films in 4K at a maximum of 25 frames per second and with a noticeably slow contrast autofocus.

- High image quality
- Autofocus with precise scene recognition
- No built-in image stabiliser
- somewhat small viewfinder
- Fixed display
The EOS R100 is a great camera for tight budgets. When it comes to photography, it scores points with its simple operation, great image quality and fast autofocus with good subject recognition. Canon has cut back on the continuous shooting speed and video: Here, the autofocus employees the slower contrast measurement. Somewhat annoying: the display cannot be folded or swivelled.

Canon's SLRs still dominate the entry-level segment, but this could now change...

The EOS R100 just achieves the grade "very good". The image quality is very good for an APS-C camera with 24 megapixels. The EOS R50, which costs a good 150 euros more, performs significantly better in terms of speed and features.
