Product details
The new PCIe standard 4.0 was introduced with the release of AMD's Ryzen 3xxx CPUs and motherboards featuring the X570 chipset. This doubles the transfer speed of a PCI lane compared to PCI Express 3.0. This is especially beneficial for NVMe M.2 SSDs, which are directly connected to the new Ryzen CPUs via four lanes. Theoretically, transfer speeds of up to 8 GBit/s are now possible. Gigabyte is one of the first manufacturers to offer the new AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSDs, which can take advantage of the new PCIe standard, particularly reflected in the write speed, which reaches a maximum of 4,400 MB/s. Even in PCIe 3.0 systems, Gigabyte's new NVMe M.2 SSDs operate faster than their predecessors.
