The Keychron Q2 is a fully customizable mechanical keyboard with a compact layout that elevates the typing experience to the next level. With a 65% layout, a full metal case, and a double-gasket design, the Q2 is designed for a personalized experience and top-notch typing comfort. The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, allowing switches to be installed or changed without soldering. The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical MX switches. The screw-in design of the PCB stabilizers enhances stability and makes modifications and upgrades easier. Precise manufacturing makes the stabilizers more stable and less wobbly. The typing experience with the larger keys (spacebar, shift key, enter key, delete key) is thus more stable and smoother.
The south-facing RGB LEDs are designed to better illuminate the keyboard's backlighting from the typist's perspective when high-quality, non-transparent PBT keycaps are installed. This also means the RGB lighting is free from interference when alternative Cherry keycaps are used. Thanks to full QMK and VIA support, every key on the keyboard can be easily programmed and remapped. The open-source firmware offers endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlighting effects, even the rotary knob, and more. An ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit STM32L432 MCU with extremely low power consumption, which is powerful and equipped with 128K Flash, provides developers with more flexibility. The Keychron Q2 has also been developed with the experience of Mac users in mind while maintaining compatibility with Windows devices. It features a system switch on the side, allowing two different layouts to be saved on the keyboard, one for each system.
