Hello SwissCrow, your problem sounds exciting. Are you sure that the crackling is coming from the cushions? I have the Cloud II headphones but the construction is identical and I've already used both ear pads and can't hear anything. Have you already changed or refitted them? If it's not at the beginning, it will be something to do with heating, but doubt it's the pads. Greetings

The headphones currently cost CHF 137 at Digitec.
In general, however, there may be price differences compared to other suppliers due to different suppliers and delivery conditions, especially in international comparison. We always try to set a price that is in line with the market, but this is not possible for all products.

We work with different suppliers and daily prices. In this case, it was probably a supplier with a low purchase price. As soon as this supplier can no longer supply the item and it switches internally to the next cheapest supplier, these jumps in the sales price can occur. For this reason, a price can adjust upwards or downwards on a daily basis.
Note that there is a cable version and a wireless version. This is the wireless version, so it's the most expensive. What's more, I recommend the battery, which has enormous autonomy.
