No, you do not need to order a memory card for the Tapo C520WS camera. The camera supports both recording on a MicroSD card (up to 512 GB) and the use of Tapo Care cloud services. The MicroSD card can be purchased separately and inserted into the camera if local storage is preferred.

Yes, the Tapo C520WS camera allows you to view live images directly without the need for a pulse from the motion detector. You can view the camera live at any time via the Tapo app without the need for recording. The camera offers permanent live transmission in 2K QHD resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels) so that you can have an up-to-date view of the monitored area at all times, even if no movement is detected.

Control and image information from the Tapo C520WS camera can be accessed via various platforms, not just a mobile phone. - Mobile app: The camera can be controlled via the Tapo app on your smartphone or tablet. This app allows live view, playback, saving clips and setting up the camera. - Laptop/computer: There is no specific desktop app, but you can control the camera via the web browser on your laptop or computer by visiting the manufacturer's website and logging in. - Voice Assistants: The camera is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing control via voice commands. This means that control and image information is not limited to mobile phones, but can also be provided via other devices and platforms.

It is usually stored on both media. Ultimately, however, the camera is primarily used to raise the alarm. Therefore, it would not matter if the camera was destroyed. The tampering would certainly also result in a message.

Works flawlessly with the Surveillance Station package in the Synology NAS, also mobile with the DS Cam app. Does not require a memory card or registration with the Tapo Cloud.

Hello, the camera fulfils all my wishes. The pictures are usable. Of course, 10 metres is very far. Most of the time, however, there are well-known people on it Hmmm I also have a professional system in operation. With HDD and data cables etc. The small Tapo is at least as good in terms of the picture but 1000 times easier to programme, operate and maintain, and all for a ridiculous investment. You can't go wrong with it. MfG Radu Nic

No, according to our information, the Tapo home cameras do not require a subscription to work. Basic functions such as live monitoring and local recording on a microSD card are available without a plan. However, the Tapo Care plan is required for cloud services via the Tapo Cloud.
