Samsung's SSD 850 EVO offers high transfer rates, short access times and is not particularly weak when processing smaller files. The price-performance ratio is very good and provides a welcome basis for replacing older drives, especially conventional hard drives. The performance gain achievable in everyday use is enormous...

- long warranty
- even better price
- not particularly much equipment
Overall, Samsung's EVO is well positioned in terms of performance, as it allows both fast access and high data rates. The price is not too high either, as 47 euro cents per GB is not expensive. However, the SSD is not exactly lavishly equipped. The warranty period of 5 years is more than fair and shows the manufacturer's confidence in the model.

Short access times, high practical performance, low power consumption, good programme package and drive encryption, solid overall write performance and a long warranty period - the Samsung 850 Evo 250GB has all of this on the plus side. The only negative aspect is the write weakness, which manifests itself in the too low sequential data rates and the low command throughput.
The EVO with a capacity of 240 GB is rather favourably priced and offers good overall performance without any major weaknesses. Although the accessories are rather mediocre here, the SSD is very fast to work with, especially since access is also quite short. In addition, the power consumption values are also correct and the waste heat remains within limits.

- Very good transfer rates
- Great practical performance
- Low power consumption
With transfer rates of 497 MByte/s when writing, the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB is one of the fastest SSDs in the test. The read speeds and access times are also very good. This makes the SSD perfect as a boot drive in desktop computers. However, with the small memory of only 250 GBytes, you should definitely have a second hard drive at hand.
