Beim Wave kommt als Anzeige ein äußerst farbstarkes und kontrastreiches Super-AMOLED-Display zum Einsatz. Der 3,3 Zoll große, kapazitive Touchscreen reagiert sehr präzise und sensibel auf Berührungen.

Bildschirmtastatur, GPS. Kamera mit Autofokus. Kurze Auslöseverzögerung, schwach bei wenig Licht. Zweitkamera für Videotelefonie. Musikspieler läuft fast 40 Stunden. Er klingt schon über mitgelieferte Ohrhörer gut, kann zu laut werden. Unkomfortables Synchronisieren mit PC. Speicherkarte schwer zugänglich.

Ein absoluter Spitzenpreis für ein Smartphone mit Vollausstattung. bada steckt als Betriebssystem gerade noch in den Kinderschuhen und wird sicherlich durch weitere, günstigere Telefone noch gepusht. Auch der Entwicklercontest dürfte zu einem Schub führen. Aktuell gibt es natürlich noch weniger als 1000 Applikationen, wobei ein System natürlich mit diesen steht und fällt.

Das Wave S8500 bringt gleich mehrere Neuheiten und Highlights mit sich, die eine nochmalige explizite Erwähnung wert sind. Dazu gehört natürlich an erster Stelle das neue Betriebssystem: Bada zeigt sich bei seinem Debüt im Kleide von TouchWiz 3.0 als grundsolides aber keinesfalls revolutionäres OS, das viele Anleihen bei der Konkurrenz macht, aber auch mit der ein oder anderen eigenen Idee aufwarten...

…Das Wave ist für das Unternehmen ein kleiner Smartphone-Meilenstein, denn hier fügen sich Ausstattung, Handhabung und Performance zu einem mehr als beachtlichen Gesamtergebnis zusammen. Kurzum: Das Apple iPhone 3GS dürfte schon den Atem dieses Verfolgers spüren.
