Thanks to TruePlay Tuning, the Roam automatically adapts to your environment and the content being played and delivers amazingly clear, perfectly balanced sound. In a vertical position, Roam requires minimal floor space and thanks to its rounded triangular shape, it can be perfectly accommodated even in tight spaces. Place Roam horizontally on uneven surfaces for more stability so that it directs the sound straight up towards you. Charge Roam wirelessly with any Qi-certified charger. Make charging a breeze with specially designed magnetic charging cradle. Connects magnetically to the Sonos wireless charger, sold separately. All Sonos speakers connect to each other via Wi-Fi so you can create your perfect sound system. Listen to music anywhere in your home by grouping speakers for synchronised playback, or connect two matching speakers in a room for even clearer stereo sound.

The market for portable speakers with AirPlay is still small, but is growing steadily. There were no real failures in our test, with the Beosound A5 definitely leading the ranking in terms of sound. It is followed at some distance by the Sonos Move 2, the Teufel Motiv Home and the Bose Portable Smart Speaker, closely followed by the Boombox and Authentics from JBL...
There is something for every taste and budget in the test field. If you want to invest a little more and also want to fill your own four walls with music, the best choice is the test winner from Sonos. Apart from a few minor flaws, the Sonos Roam is a brilliant speaker that combines Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and smart features in a sleek, compact and robust design.
Up to ten hours of battery operation are possible, charging is via a USB-C cable - unfortunately, a power supply unit is not included. A special charging dock for the Roam costs around 50 euros extra. However, the annoyance about such business practices fades after switching on: Hardly any other box of a comparable size is likely to make so much steam (and joy).

Sonos has priced the Roam well and there are many good things to say about this elegant, compact and clever speaker. It is IP67 certified, can be placed anywhere and can be charged wirelessly. A feature rarely found in a speaker. As you would expect from Sonos, the sound quality is also excellent...
