The high expectations that Sony fuelled at the presentation of the new model were actually confirmed by the new G-Master lens in the test laboratory. The resolution and lens quality are top class. The same applies to the autofocus, which is extremely fast and precise. When taking photos, the autofocus is up to three times faster than that of the previous model...
The Sony FE 1.4/85 mm GM II achieves impressive top values, especially optically, but these come at a price.
- The modernisation of the classic lens has been a complete success. Resolution, AF speed and other factors (focus breathing) have been adapted to the camera performance in 2024.
