A quick-release plate (also known as a camera plate or quick-release plate) is a frequently used and very helpful accessory for tripod heads in photography and videography. The common practice of frequently mounting and dismounting cameras from the tripod, for example when using different cameras, can be quite time-consuming and disruptive. This issue can be resolved by using a quick-release plate. These plates are attached to the camera body using the existing threaded screw (usually 1/4 inch) and remain on the camera. The camera can then be easily and quickly mounted or released from the tripod head using the user-friendly locking mechanism of the quick-release plate.
