Question about Google Home Mini

Hello dear Google Home Community I have the following questions about Google Home (which might also be of interest to others): - What exactly is the difference between Google Home and Google Home mini? The price is obvious :-) - Is the surcharge worth it? - What can Google Home do more than the mini? - On Ali_express there are many light switches, lamps and devices that are apparently compatible with Google Home. Have you already had experience with them? Many thanks in advance! Best regards!

I have a Home Box in the kitchen and a Mini in the bathroom. There are 2 differences: With the Home Box, you can adjust the volume manually, but this is not possible with the Mini. But it's not necessary, because this is possible anyway via the voice commands 'OK Google, quieter / louder' or 'Ok Google, volume level 5' and works without any problems. Secondly, the sound quality: It is not outstanding with either gadget. You can still make settings for sound and bass in the Home app, but it is definitely advisable to have the Googles streamed to a stereo system via Chromecast Audio. Otherwise, I agree with the other reviewers that the speaker has the slightly better sound quality, because not only is the speaker positioned towards the front, but it is also clearly larger. My conclusion: If you like it discreet and don't have such high demands on sound quality, you can get a Mini. The same goes for people who just want to try it out and see it as a gimmick. What is definitely recommended with both gadgets is to use them in combination with a subscription to Spotify or Google Play Music. This gives you access to several million tracks for less than Sfr. 15 per month. It does happen that (in my case) Google Play Music does not find the one or other title via the voice command, but in this case I can enter it manually in the mobile phone, from where I also have access to Play Music and can also stream directly to the Chromecast.

The Home clearly sounds better. In addition to a normal Home in the living room, I use a Mini in the bathroom; it is smaller and fits in the mirrored cabinet (where it reacts without any problems with the doors closed). Apart from shower entertainment, the Mini is pretty unsuitable for music, but is mainly suitable as an inexpensive extension in other rooms for voice commands.

Google Home Mini's microphone is known to be better and picks up my voice well even from other rooms. The big home rather less so. I have a lot of Yeelights, strips etc.. Everything works great.

Features are apparently the same. The sound quality of the Home is of course better. Mini is recommended if you want to set up several, for example in a house with many rooms, because they are a lot cheaper. You can also integrate Chromecast Audio for Multiroom and use existing sound systems. Since they all work well together anyway, you can't have enough of them as long as Big Brother doesn't stress you out :)
