Athom Homey Pro

Question about Homey Pro

Hello everyone, at the moment I have various bridges running at home (Tado, Velux, Gardena, Sonos, Philips, etc.). Am I right in assuming that these bridges are no longer needed with the Homey? Another question - Apple Home is my favourite app. With Homey I can secure the interface to the various suppliers - create automations - and basically everything is then also visible in Apple Home? Thank you for your feedback.

In principle, it is correct that bridges are no longer required (e.g. Philips). However, the problem is that there are some manufacturers who do not allow direct access to their devices in the home network (Daikin), but you can integrate them via the cloud, often without a bridge. And other manufacturers even deliberately make it very difficult to integrate their products (velux or RCT, for example). They are still living in the Stone Age. However, the trend is for everything to be increasingly integrated into one system. Today, almost everything is networked via WLAN because it's cheap and good. And this is almost always an open system. In terms of ease of use and the ability to connect devices, Homy is the best compromise on the market. I have connected 120 devices from the wallbox to solar.

Hi, I use Homey Pro with an Android phone, so I can't comment on the functions for Apple devices. Overall and for my purposes, however, it's a great system that can do a lot and is beginner-friendly. It can also be used to replace some of the manufacturers' bridges. I currently use Homey:

- Tado X (via Matter, i.e. without a bridge)
- Nuki
- Gardena Smart (with bridge)
- Aqara water sensors (Zigbee, without bridge)
- Fibaro adapter plug (Z-Wave, without bridge)
- Fibaro shutter shutter (Z-Wave, without bridge)
- Permundo adapter plug (Z-Wave, without bridge)
- Philips Hue (works with and without a bridge, I use it to have all manufacturer functions including updates)
- Google Chromecast
- Logitech Harmony Hub
- Synology Diskstation
- Sungrow inverter
- Tesla Powerwall
- Easee Wallbox
- Meross garage opener
- Neff dishwasher
- Miele hob
- Sonos speakers
- Amazon ECHOs
- Google Text-to-speech
- LaMetric Time
- Meural Canvas
- Sonoff presence sensors
- Netatmo weather station
- Withings devices (users)
- Skoda Enyaq

All these devices can be networked with each other via "flows", i.e. if-then and also create much more complex sequences. Of course, not everything works straight away (as with any Sarthome system), but Homey is much more user-friendly and comprehensive than the hom.ee I used previously. If you enjoy working with it, but don't want to delve deep enough into the subject matter to set up Home Assistant, I think Homey is exactly the right system.

Many thanks to you!
