I have a funny question, might be ridiculous to some, but important to me. I had several Samsung 49" monitors (QLED). With all of them I had a problem, namely they had a status LED on the front, and when the device was in standby mode, this LED was constantly flashing. In the evening, when you might want to sleep in the same room, it's really annoying. You have to switch the monitor off completely every day (look for the button at the bottom of the screen and hold it down for a very long time). Day in, day out... Is that also the case here? I see that this monitor also has a remote control (with power ON/OFF). Do you have to switch it on every time, like a TV, or does it behave like a normal monitor? -> PC is switched on, monitor also switches on, when PC is shut down it goes into standby? Thirdly, what is the difference between the G95SC and the G93SC? Many thanks for the answers!

Helpful answer

So my OLED (G95SC) has no status LED or it is simply defective. So nothing lights up, neither when switched off nor when switched on. As far as I know, the only difference is that the G95SC has the "smart" functions (Samsung TV, remote control, Netflix etc.), which are not particularly smart in my opinion and rather unnecessary. Otherwise, according to my research, they are technically exactly the same. And yes, it switches itself on and off automatically together with the PC, but can also be done via the remote control. I don't know whether and for how long you have to press the button on the G93SC, as I don't own this monitor.

I also looked at the 2 monitors and looked for differences because the price is quite different. Here's what I found that the 95 model has more of:

- RGB lighting
- WLAN, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2
- SmartHome control
- Online gaming without a PC
- Streaming apps

These are the most noticeable differences.
But I suspect that you've already bought a monitor in the meantime :-)

-The monitor has a "standby LED", it glows with less than half a "lux" (very, very, very weak light source) when switched off. And doesn't bother you at all.

-Monitor switches "on" when the PC is switched on and "off" when the PC is switched off .... With a countdown after the PC image signal is lost (I don't know if you can deactivate this countdown, but it never bothered me).

-The remote control is available and works very satisfactorily, there is also a "physical on/off button" on the back of the monitor which also functions as a joystick for the menu extension.

-I have seen that the other model variants of the G9 have a different "monitor base" and I have not noticed any other differences so far. I haven't really looked into it either.

Perhaps Samsung itself can tell you more about this.
