Unfortunately, both have to live with some restrictions in Switzerland.
I have the Google Home Mini at home. I can use it to control the TV (Netflix), run Spotify, set alarms, make appointments, ask about the weather, Google things... without any problems.
Even the lights (Philipps HUE or alternatives (e.g. at IKEA)) can be controlled.
If such everyday things are enough for you, you are well served with it. The biggest limitations are simply the number of apps that can be linked (for example, as far as I know, Deezer cannot yet be used with Google Home in Switzerland) and some commands and routines.
Otherwise, Google Home also works quite well in Switzerland:-)
