This is not a question, I just wanted to share this comment from the Samsung live chat: "OLED technology has improved so much that burn-in cannot happen even after 100,000 hours. There is no longer a guarantee for the devices because this simply no longer happens. So you don't need to worry about that." In case someone was also worried about image retention.
I think it's a strange argument to say that you don't give a guarantee on burn-ins if it's not going to happen anyway. Then you can also give the guarantee. The purpose is to "guarantee" the customer that the monitor will last. Especially with the reputation Samsung has with their gaming monitors regarding quality checks, I would be rather cautious with such statements. But thank you for sharing!
“Trust me bro” but from Samsung? That kind of logic alone tells me I cannot trust them…
You can really see that warranty has a completely different significance today.
In the past, this would have been called a lifetime guarantee, but today it has been removed from the guarantee.
It feels like a propaganda statement, because as it sounds from the Community, burnins still happen with the latest OLEDs.
and if there is a burn-in, how does the warranty come into play?
Thank you for sharing the information you have learned with the community.
🤣😂 Samsung was good and no problems with their monitors would be heaven on earth. I'm telling you right now if it wasn't a thing anymore they would boldly write 5 years warranty on burn in to give themselves an advantage over the competition. People who have burnins often can't avoid suing Samsung as far as I've heard.
I would also claim as a manufacturer... Unfortunately, the longevity tests from rtings look quite different
