De'Longhi La Specialista Arte
De'Longhi La Specialista Arte
It's super easy to get started. Just unpack everything, fill up with coffee and water and off you go! The operation of the machine is very easy. Only setting the correct amount and grind with the 8 different levels takes a bit of practice, but there are recommendations in the manual, they already fit very well. The milk frother is great and the coffee a pleasure, the drinking temperature fits exactly. What I find super is the dosing aid, so that the coffee grounds are not ground next to the portafilter - great tool! Cleaning is easy, there is also the possibility of active descaling with a special accessory. The De'Longhi La Specialista Arte has led me to a new coffee experience. It is a good mix between fully automatic and portafilter machine. I think the design is very great and appealing. The functions are user friendly and simple. The machine is quiet to use and the coffee tastes great. The only drawback for me is that it is sometimes a bit messy with the coffee grounds, which are scattered everywhere despite caution. I recommend the machine for portafilter beginners and find it a great product.

Even the first impression of the De'Longhi La Specialista is good. The machine feels very good. I quite like the look - a mixture between stainless steel and black bezel, certain 'old-fashioned' details with pressure indicator and rotary knobs. This already looks high quality at first glance. The initial start-up of the machine is quick - set it up, insert the tank, take out the individual parts and you're ready to go. A small drawback to the accessories: I would have liked a knock box as an accessory. That would certainly be more relevant than the included milk can. Before the first (drinkable) coffee can be let out, it takes a while. First, there is rinsing. It's just fun to test the different settings and do the test after each change. A machine like this shows the complexity of coffee. The smallest settings have an impact on the crema, taste and consistency. The machine has the options to dispense espresso, americano and hot water. One setting I would have liked to see was coffee crème. The milk frother (milk lance) makes you feel like a barista. Our guests appreciate the 'real' Italian coffee and we also notice the clear difference from a freshly brewed coffee to a Conclusion: The machine combines quality workmanship with good looks. You have (almost) everything to enjoy a really good espresso like in Italy. The milk nozzle can be used to prepare other coffee specialties. With a little trial and adjustment, you bring a perfect espresso from the machine. The adjustment requires a little patience and must be redone for each type of bean, but the result is a very good coffee, which reminds me with every sip of the last Italian vacation.

The machine is compact and the design is very nice.
It turns on and heats up very quickly.
It doesn't drain every time it shuts down, goes into standby or turns on, which is a plus.
The top compartment for storing accessories is very convenient.
I find the grain tank a little small, it would have been a plus if it was bigger.
It took me a number of coffees to find the optimum setting between the fineness of the grind, the dosage and the temperature. But now it's a treat!
I imagined that having to manually pack the coffee with the spacer guide would be a constraint, but after the first 3 attempts, which were a bit tricky, to reverse the steps, it became ultra simple and fast to do.
I mostly use it to drink espressos.
I use the steam nozzle to heat up the kids' milk.
My wife makes lattes every day and finds the system very convenient.
I also sometimes make teas, it's very quick and easy.
The only regret I have now with this La Specialista Arte is that I can no longer drink espresso from other traditional automatic machines.

First glimpse when unpacking the machine: It is very beautiful, we can see that the materials are of quality and that it looks great. The only drawback is that the part for raising the espresso cup is not very practical. A folding support would have been much more judicious. It is necessary to take the time to follow the manual of explanation for the first use because there are some manipulations to carry out. To reach the right setting for an excellent coffee, you have to be patient and make several attempts. Once these adjustments are made, it is a real pleasure to handle this coffee machine which delivers very good coffees. I admit that I don't want to go back to a capsule coffee machine. The only downside is that the coffee function would have been preferable to the Americano function. I can only recommend this machine

The start-up is relatively simple if you follow the instructions exactly. Once you have found the amount of coffee powder, the grind, the brewing temperature and the contact pressure with the tamper, the "La Specialista Arte" makes an incredibly good espresso. Since I drink espresso black, I'm quite fussy about the taste. I usually only get such a good espresso in Italy. I am more than positively surprised. Additional plus point for me personally, the preparation has something relaxing and is like a short break from the stressful everyday life.
