Question about Dreame X40 Ultra Complete

Good day. So far my question has gone unanswered. So I'm asking it again: nobody seems to be interested, but it's very important to me. Can anyone tell me whether this vacuum cleaner needs to be permanently connected to the WLAN in order to start predefined cleaning programmes? To be more precise: is this vacuum cleaner also able to follow the cleaning settings, even if it has no wifi in everyday life (after it has been programmed with wifi)? Old Ecovacs, for example, do not need wifi. The robot starts at the programmed time with the appropriate settings. A Roborock model could not do this. It needs Wi-Fi permanently, otherwise it won't start its predefined programme! Thank you very much

Helpful answer

Hello, as soon as the robot no longer has wifi, it stops and says "Vacuum cleaner offline" you can then neither access the app nor can the vacuum cleaner continue to run manually. It absolutely needs wifi. Even previously programmed times do not work. It leaves the station briefly, then realises that it is offline and that's it. Hope that helps. Info on the side: If you have swinging chairs, you should keep your hands off them, it doesn't recognise them at all and drives halfway over them and gets stuck. Best navigation where swinging chairs are also recognised "Roborock with Kamerars"

You can equip the vacuum cleaner with offline firmware. In my opinion, even with a module so that you don't lose your warranty. But I would take this with a grain of salt. Had to search but found it here. https://valetudo.cloud/
