Thule Pack 'n Pedal Tour Rack XT
There was indeed an error in our specifications. The maximum load is 11kg.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer these spare parts. I am very sorry.
In principle, yes, but it always depends on how heavy you load the carrier.
I don't have Silkroad Plus, so I can't answer your question. I have the Thule saddlebags, which fit perfectly!
Must be purchased separately and are essential. I first used the carrier without the side parts. But then the bags hit the spokes on bumps in the road.
I had it mounted on my Flyer Uproc 4 6.30 alu. It can work if you ride on tarmac, but on uneven ground (vibrations etc.) it's not the absolute best, indeed the clamps slip and the whole thing moves. It's a few millimetres and it rubs against the tyre. I have dismantled mine ... I put it on sale with the side bags.
I quickly measured it on my bike. You have 8.4 mm space between the two bars. After converting 2.6 inches to 66 mm, the space should be sufficient. To be on the safe side, measure your tyre width again.
I don't see any test problems with it.
Fits a Spezialized Stumpjumper with 29" wheels without any problems, but size XL.
Do you really want to ride with 25 kg on the front wheel? Good luck then.
Just finished a bike tour with all kinds of roads. The carrier didn't cause any problems, all the screws are still on. I had tightened all of them when I adjusted them.
I used Ortlieb Back Roller Plus on the Rack and side frames. You won't be able to lock the bags at the bottom without some tinkering. But I realized you don't need a lock when the bags are loaded. They don't swing sideways, so no worries. I travelled in Sri Lanka for two months on some really bad roads and had no issues.
I mounted the Tour Rack on the back of my MTB and put Ortlieb Back Roller Plus on it. These bags come with accessories for three or four different diameters of stem on the rack. It was a perfect fit. The only thing I couldn't do was attach the bags at the bottom, but that's not a problem because they don't move sideways when loaded. I toured Sri Lanka with it for two months.
The side frames must be ordered separately. It is worth it, they give the bags really good support.
I don't have a carbon rear end. It works great on my Meridabike
But you can definitely attach a tension strap to it, and with the side frames you can also attach sackcloth.
Unfortunately, our suppliers do not offer the colour black.
It is better with the side parts, that gives more stability, otherwise I can only recommend the carrier...
