When hiking, on the road, or on the water, the Montana 600 features a 4-inch color touch screen and supports multiple map options, including Topo Switzerland, BirdsEye satellite images, City Navigator, and BlueChart g2. It is ideal for outdoor activities thanks to a 3-axis compass with tilt correction and a barometric altimeter.

The device is resistant to dust, dirt, splash water, and vibration. Autorouting is possible with optional City Navigator maps. Geocaches, including descriptions and hints, can be used as GPX files. Wireless exchange of tracks, waypoints, and routes is possible with similar devices. It includes a 5-megapixel autofocus camera.

Automatic recording of the route includes 10,000 points, 200 tracks, 2,000 waypoints, and 200 routes. It has an integrated 3-axis compass and a waterproof camera to IPX7 standard. Additional features include geocaching, PhotoNavigation, hunting and fishing calendars, sun and moon calendars, area calculation, custom POIs, and an image viewer. It is compatible with Garmin Connect.

Das kompakte Montana ist ein zuverlässiges und robustes Outdoor Navi und eignet sich als echter Allrounder. So mist das Display hochwertig und die Karten darauf sind sehr gut zu erkennen. Leider ist das Basiskartenmaterial nicht umfangreich, sodass ein Zukauf zu empfehlen ist. Auch eine Fahrradhalterung ist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten, sollte aber unbedingt erworben werden.
