Garmin Index S2 Smart Scale
181.40 kg
I was able to set up the scale very quickly. I had no connection problems - neither with the mobile phone nor with the WLAN. The data is automatically synchronized with the Garmin account.
Additional people can be added without problems if they have a Garmin Connect account.
So far, I can not share the opinion of the negative reviews. I am very satisfied with the scale.
PS: I received the scale as a gift and am therefore not a "verified buyer".

A product/software/user manual like this should be urgently revised. After trying for 3 hours to pair a 2nd participant (both have Garmin Connect accounts), I read in the reviews here that this is probably not intended in Switzerland. The review is already 3 years old. I have tried further. Device reset and first paired the other participant (IOS). Then tried to authorise myself as a friend - couldn't send a request at all. Performed another reset and paired my Android first again (pairing mode can be activated with the reset button). Then sent and confirmed a friend request for the Connect account, then sent and confirmed a friend request for the Index S2. Then the 2nd participant could be set and activated - a madness.....

On the internet voices about problems with the setup and connection. I can not actuate that.
The setup and invitation of additional people went with me uncomplicated and easy.
If it was really so and problems were there, Garmin has done the job well and improved. The wait for delivery has therefore paid off.
Report after 2 hours
The batteries were inserted according to the instructions. Then the reset button was activated. The Index S2 smart scale was immediately found on the mobile phone. Pairing was never possible. Although the connection code was sent from the scale to the mobile phone (the code could also be entered in the app), pairing was always unsuccessful. Therefore, the following was tested:
1. mobile phone and scale shut down again, switched on again.
2. uninstalled & reinstalled Garmin App
3. existing Garmin Vivoactive 3 (watch) installed (15min for nothing)
(so it can't be the phone iOS or the Garmin app).
4. about 30 minutes of online research. According to the information, the WI-Fi must meet certain requirements. However, the S2 smart scale shows the "Bluetooth" sign. If the WI-FI is disabled on the phone, the scale but grumbles - so yet WI-Fi problem.
5. the scale was taken to the office, because there is the newest router from Swissom with the best connection. Unfortunately, the scale could not be paired there either. Work colleagues found it but still funny.
5. various attempts to pair the S2 smart scale. Apparently, the latest Internet from Swisscom can not be paired with the S2 smart scale. On the Internet and in this forum there are various such messages.
Conclusion:
- Precious 2 hours of life lost (excl. report, return shipment)
- Lost weight due to annoyance approx. 20 grams
- I am now asked daily in the office about my weight
- Garmin: Never again. The Vivoactive 3 is cool, but even there gibts again and again problems with the connection and Garmin also knows (hundreds of online reports).
This scale is not to use. Since it is one of the most expensive anyway, it is not so bad, you just buy a cheaper one that works.

This review was created for a different variant: Index S2 Smart Scale (181.40 kg)
Unfortunately, the scales are definitely as bad as many reports on the Internet suggest. I stood on the scales twice in a row, one time I weighed 72kg and the next time 64kg. Apart from the "calculated" data, which is arbitrary, this scale can't even weigh simple weights. It also keeps losing the programming/connection to the Garmin account and the users are no longer available on the scale. I consider selling and advertising this product in this way to be wilful fraud!
