Does it switch off automatically after three minutes?

Yes turns off automatically. That way you have the time under control.

If you clean with level 1, it switches off after 2 minutes (one cleaning = 4 x 30 seconds).
I haven't tested level 2 yet, but on the older model it also switched off automatically.
