Test Report

Comparison test: Five guide rails for circular saws in comparison

The conclusion of our comparative test may come as little surprise: the first two places are occupied by candidates that are largely oriented towards the market leader among professional guide rails. The Scheppach set suffers a little from the quality of the rail. Here, the YouTool rail is the model student. The combination of Scheppach saw and YouTool guide rail is our unqualified recommendation for anyone who wants to buy both a saw and a guide rail. And for beginners, the Scheppach set is the clear price tip. The Bosch set is particularly convincing because the rail can be disassembled quickly and the small, lightweight rail elements are easy to store and transport. However, the selection of saws that can be used is small. The two universally usable rail systems each set their own accents. The Kreg rail comes across as somewhat shirt-sleeved and is quick and easy to use, but it lacks the very last precision. The Wolfcraft requires a little more attention during adjustment - both in terms of the position of the saw on the guide carriage and the positioning of the rail on the workpiece - but allows very precise work.
