Galaxy Watch FE: Samsung launches an affordable entry-level smartwatch
Samsung has surprisingly presented the Galaxy Watch FE. For just over 200 francs or euros, it is the Korean company's entry into the world of smartwatches.
Samsung is doing what Apple did and launching an affordable entry-level smartwatch on the market. And, like its role model, it is not being designed from scratch, but the manufacturer is using models from previous years. Instead of Apple Watch SE, Samsung's watch is called Galaxy Watch FE.
The Watch FE is visually and technically reminiscent of the Galaxy Watch 4 from 2021, using the Exynos W920 Dual Core with a clock speed of 1.18 GHz. It is supported by 1.5 GB of RAM. There is also 16 GB of storage space for apps and data. However, there are also differences, as the new version is smaller.
The watch face of the Watch FE measures 40 millimetres in diameter. The screen under sapphire glass is 1.2 inches in size and has a resolution of 396 × 396 pixels. The Amoled display also enables an always-on display.

From ECG to sleep tracking
The operating system is Wear OS with UI One UI Watch 5.0. Samsung has given the watch many fitness and wellness functions. More than 100 training sessions can be started directly via the Watch FE. Blood oxygen measurement, ECG and sleep tracking are also integrated.
The watch case is available in black, pink gold or silver. There are also new straps with blue and orange-coloured stitching. These can be changed quickly using the one-click mechanism. Samsung and third-party manufacturers already offer a wide range of compatible wristbands.

In Germany and other European countries, the Watch FE will be launched in the summer. However, an exact date has not yet been set. The price: 219 euros for the normal version, 269 euros for the version with mobile communications. The market launch in Switzerland is still open. We will of course endeavour to offer the watch here in the shop as soon as possible. <p
