Oppo presents Find N3 Flip global
One month after Samsung, Oppo also unveils its new flip phone. The Chinese manufacturer wants to score points with an elongated external display and high-quality triple camera.
The Oppo Find N2 went on sale internationally six months ago. Now the manufacturer is already presenting its successor in China. The Oppo Find N3 looks stylish. A round camera module next to an elongated external display and in the colours black, pink and gold. International sales are also planned at a later date.
The phone has a thickness of around 16.4 millimetres when folded, which is reduced to 7.8 millimetres when unfolded. The weight is 198 grams.
The external display measures 3.26 inches in portrait format. The resolution of the AMOLED display is 720 × 384 pixels and it achieves a brightness of 900 nits. The frame rate is 60 hertz. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The lock screen can be personalised and display various widgets. Of course, you can also take a casual selfie with the main camera. The Android apps that can be displayed on the external display are still somewhat limited on release.
The inner display shows even better values. A 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,520 × 1,080 pixels. The peak brightness here is even 1,600 nits.
The camera setup is one of the most exciting new features and is reminiscent of the Oppo Find X6, which is unfortunately not sold in this country. Hasselblad is once again on board. The smartphone features a main camera with 50 megapixels (f/1.8) including optical image stabilisation, an ultra-wide-angle camera with 48 megapixels (f/2.2) and a macro mode with 2x optical zoom as well as a telephoto camera with 32 megapixels (f/2.0). It can also be used to create videos: in UHD resolution and 30 fps. There is also a 32-megapixel selfie camera in the inner display.
The flagship processor Mediatek Dimensity 9200 is used as the SoC. The Find N3 Flip is powered by a 4,300 mAh battery with 44 watts fast charging. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 are already supported
Interested parties in Europe will have to be patient. So far, the Oppo Find N3 Flip is only available in China. The basic model already has 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal memory. At 6,799 yuan, it costs the equivalent of around 830 francs or 860 euros. A global launch is also planned. It has not yet been announced when the Flip will be released. The previous model cost just under 1,000 francs in Switzerland.
