The iPad Air 2022 is an excellent tablet. Thanks to the M1 chip and Apple's generous update policy, it offers sufficient performance and security for years. Moreover, with the Apple Pencil 2 and the Magic Keyboard, it supports tools that lift it above a mere sofa tablet. Interested parties must weigh up whether the small iPad Pro is not the better choice.
The iPad Air offers the iPad Pro feeling at a lower price with manageable compromises. The display is not quite as good as that of the Pro, and Face ID is missing. However, the super-nimble M1 CPU is on board. For unbridled fun, we recommend the 256-gigabyte variant from 849 euros.
