Product details
The Fujinon XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II is the successor to the popular fast standard zoom lens Fujinon XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR and is the flagship model of the XF lenses. At just 410 grams, it is a good third
lighter than its predecessor. Thanks to an optimised lens configuration, it also achieves even better imaging performance across the entire zoom range.
The lens covers the frequently used focal length range from 16 mm to 55 mm (equivalent to 24 mm to 84 mm KB) and offers a consistently high speed of F2.8, making it suitable for a wide range of subjects such as nature, landscape and portraits. The XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II is the first XF lens to feature mechanical aperture stop deactivation, which enables stepless and silent aperture control when shooting video. With its high performance and universal usability, the lens expands the visual expression possibilities for photography and filming.
The XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II offers a constant speed of F2.8 over the entire focal length range from 16 mm wide-angle to 55 mm telephoto (equivalent to 24 mm to 84 mm KB). The optical construction comprises 16 elements in eleven groups, including four aspherical lenses, one Super ED lens and three ED lenses. This lens system ensures high resolution right into the corners of the image and minimises optical colour errors (chromatic aberrations) even at large apertures.
The ultra-precise production of the aspherical lenses allows an even softer and more beautiful bokeh effect compared to the previous model, as disturbing ring patterns are better suppressed. The shortest focusing distance over the entire focal length range is just 0.3 metres, enabling close-ups with up to 0.21x magnification.
Advanced optical technologies enable thinner lens elements, thanks to which the lens is significantly more compact and lighter. Compared to the previous model, the overall length has been reduced by around eleven millimetres and the housing volume by more than a third (approx. 37.8 %). The model weighs only around 410 grams, which is also a good third (approx. 37.4 %) less.
