HDTV is the standard for digital video transmission in the TV and multimedia sector, for example, for connecting a TV with an HDMI interface to a playback device with a DisplayPort connection. It is a cable with a DisplayPort connector on one end and an HDTV connector on the other. Note: A DisplayPort-HDTV cable can only be used in one direction: the DisplayPort connector is only usable on the data source side, such as with a graphics card.
