But it doesn't seem to work with the UPC Connect Box, does anyone know why?

For the handheld transmitter to work with the Connect Box, it needs a base station with RJ11 connection, e.g. Gigaset Box100.

Maybe because none of the upc boxes has an integrated DECT base...
