Question about DS1621+ - 637922

Hello, can I also access the Synology NAS via WLAN from a Mac? Do I need accessories for this or can I simply connect it to a router/satellite, for example?

The DS1621+ itself has no built-in WLAN. However, you can connect it to a router/satellite via LAN cable and then access the DS1621+ via WLAN. The prerequisite is that the router/satellite is WLAN-capable.

If you connect the NAS to the (WLAN) router via LAN, you can also access it with the Mac via WLAN (Mac -> WLAN -> WLAN router -> LAN -> NAS)... I do the same with my PC/laptop.

The Synology NAS devices no longer support Wifi USB sticks with the current DSM 7.xx operating system. However, there are various modifications on Github with which Zigbee USB dongles can be connected for direct Wifi. However, such a connection is significantly slower than connecting the DS1621+ via cable to the WLAN-capable router/satellite.
