The kitchen roll holder by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui started in 2015 with the eponymous centrepiece. The designers took inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon.
Made at the company's factory in Crusinallo di Omegna, the "Barkroll" paper roll holder is created in a manufacturing process in which the metal plate is first cut and perforated by laser cutting: the perforation reproduces knots in the wood, the cylindrical shape the structure of the trunk. This object, as poetic as it is functional, reminds us each time we take it out that paper is made from trees.
