It vacuums up almost everything and scrubs vigorously. What's more, the S8 is easy to manoeuvre, offers many smart cleaning functions and leaves objects lying around behind. The price is now also right.

The Roborock S8 is a reliable robot vacuum cleaner with a convenient app in the mid-price range. The highlight is its terrific suction performance: in the test, it removed over 70 per cent of dust from our carpet in maximum mode and was quite fast. That is excellent for a robot vacuum cleaner...

There are slight advances in design, but they are more cosmetic. The change of colour from cool but gloomy black to a friendlier white that is better suited to most households only affects the Pro Plus version. Progress has been made in navigation, which now takes the new top spot with improved 3D object recognition and makes the vacuum even better at navigating its surroundings...
