The smart sensor transmits the current status data to the Gardena Gateway via radio. If the sensor measurement shows that the soil is moist enough, the next watering is skipped. In addition, the smart sensor also measures the temperature close to the ground. The flat sensor protrudes only 20 mm from the ground and can therefore remain on the lawn on which a robotic lawnmower is in use without damage.
